Mangsa dipercayai diperdaya seorang individu yang menawarkan beberapa bidang tanah di Seberang Perai Tengah, Pulau Pinang, pada harga murah menerusi bayaran secara ansuran. Five individuals have come forward alleging they were victims of a land sale scam, collectively losing over RM100,000. The accused allegedly offered plots of land in Seberang Perai Tengah, Penang, at low prices with installment payment options. One victim, identified as Siti, stated that the scam was uncovered when the seller failed to facilitate the land title transfer process after full payment was made. Upon investigating the land's location themselves, the victims discovered from local residents that the plots were already owned by others. Siti mentioned that she was introduced to the alleged scammer in 2015 and made payments totaling around RM20,000 over two years. Despite lodging a police report in August 2018, the victims report no significant progress in the investigation.
This case highlights a potential land fraud scheme, prompting victims to seek justice and raising awareness about the risks involved in property transactions.
