Centre allocates ₹8,500 crore for Bengal under VB-G RAM G scheme

The Central government has allocated ₹8,500 crore to West Bengal under the VB-G RAM G scheme, as announced by Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari. The funds are part of the Gram Sadak Yojana, with ₹2,400 crore approved and ₹1,000 crore already released. Adhikari launched the 'Jan Kalyan Shivir' program in Nandigram, aiming to connect citizens with 54 government schemes. The initiative, running from June 15 to 17, allows people to access welfare programs and apply for enrollment. The Chief Minister emphasized ensuring benefits reach genuine recipients, not undocumented migrants or families not adhering to specific educational or cultural norms. Long lines were reported on the first day of the camps, which cover major schemes like Ayushman Bharat and Annapurna Yojana. The VB-G RAM G scheme replaces MGNREGA, offering 125 days of annual employment to rural households.

This allocation highlights the government's focus on rural development and welfare, impacting millions of citizens through new employment and social schemes.
