DAR ES SALAAM: The Airtel Africa Foundation has reached more than 2 million learners and nearly 39,000 teachers with digital education initiatives across 13 African countries, supported by its partnership with UNICEF. Airtel Africa Foundation has supported over 2 million students and 39,000 teachers across 13 African countries through digital education projects. The foundation's first annual report outlines its efforts in education, digital inclusion, and community development. A partnership with UNICEF has connected 3,296 schools to the internet, providing free access to educational content for 11 million learners. The foundation invested $6.2 million in its four strategic areas, with education receiving the largest share. It also renovated public schools and provided scholarships for STEM education. Over 30,000 youth and women received digital skills training. The foundation aims to expand its school adoption program and increase scholarships in the coming year.
The initiative addresses educational disparities and promotes digital inclusion across Africa.
