Mali experienced a series of coordinated attacks across its capital and four other cities on Saturday, marking one of the most significant assaults in recent years. The al-Qaida-affiliated Jama'at Nasr al-Islam wal Muslimin (JNIM) claimed responsibility for the strikes. JNIM stated that the operations were conducted in collaboration with the Azawad Liberation Front, a separatist organization led by Tuareg people. The attacks targeted multiple locations, including the international airport in Bamako.
These coordinated attacks highlight the escalating security challenges and the complex alliances between militant and separatist groups operating within Mali.
