The discussions took place during a meeting at the UNFCCC sessions in Bonn. Italy's interest is based on Tanzania's established carbon trading framework. Among 14 African countries, Tanzania was chosen as a priority due to its policies and investment environment. Italy plans to launch pilot projects with support from SEforALL. A feasibility study is being conducted to guide the initiative. Dr. Muyungi praised the partnership as a sign of strong relations between the countries. Climate resilience is a key focus of Tanzania's Development Vision 2050. The country aims to generate $2 billion from carbon trading and the Blue Economy. Priority sectors include energy, agriculture, and transport.
