The Namibia National Paralympic Committee says the successful hosting of blind football exhibition matches in Windhoek has strengthened hopes of establishing a national team capable of competing among Africa’s best. JP Schmidt, a development officer, emphasized the need to include more sports, mentioning 23 different codes available. Blind football, played with a bell-equipped ball, showcased impressive talent and captivated audiences. Six teams from various regions participated, with the next step focusing on structured competitions and team selection. Schmidt expressed confidence in Namibia's potential to become a top African team. The NNPC and the Namibian Association for Blind Sports plan to expand their efforts through training and development programs.
