Ghazipur Student Union Leader Expelled After Extortion Call Goes Viral

A ward president of the Ghazipur Metropolitan Chhatra Dal (student wing of BNP) has been expelled following a viral audio recording of him demanding money and making threats. Ratul Shikdar alias Omi, president of Ward 51, was dismissed for alleged extortion, kidnapping for ransom, and long-standing financial demands from a labor leader. The audio clip, circulating on social media, features Shikdar allegedly stating that even high-profile figures like Tareq Rahman or the Prime Minister couldn't help the victim if demands weren't met. A written complaint has been filed against Shikdar and six others at the Tongi West Police Station, accusing them of regular extortion attempts and a recent abduction where Tk 65,000 was allegedly taken.
