A 46-year-old lineman lost his life after being electrocuted while carrying out maintenance work on an electric post in Thrissur district on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Manoj V., a resident of Arattupuzha. He was an employee of the Karuvannur Electricity Office.

The incident occurred at Mapranam while Mr. Manoj was working on an electric post. Reports indicate that the power supply had not been disconnected at the time and he sustained a severe electric shock.

He died while being rushed to a hospital. Two other workers who were present at the site sustained serious burns.
