Italy to Deploy SAMP/T Air Defense System in Konya, Turkey
Milli Savunma Bakanlığı (MSB) NATO Daimi Savunma Planı kapsamında İtalya'ya ait bir adet SAMP/T Hava Savunma Sistemi'nin Konya'ya konuşlandırılacağını açıkladı. Amerikan yapımı Patriot'a alternatif görülen SAMP/T mobil bir karadan havaya savunma sistemi. Fransa–İtalya ortaklığıyla (Eurosam konsorsiyumu) geliştirilen sistem, NATO sistemlerine entegre edilebiliyor.
As part of NATO's Permanent Defense Plan, Italy will deploy one SAMP/T Air Defense System in Konya, Turkey. This system is considered an alternative to the American-made Patriot system. The SAMP/T is a mobile surface-to-air missile system developed through a Franco-Italian partnership (Eurosam consortium) and can be integrated into NATO systems. The deployment signifies enhanced regional defense cooperation within the NATO framework. The system's capabilities are designed to counter aerial threats effectively.
