Vân Đồn Airport to Host Major Aircraft Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) Complex

Sun Group, in collaboration with HAECO, Japan Airlines, and Toyota Tsusho, has signed a joint venture agreement to develop a significant aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) complex at Vân Đồn International Airport. The $360 million project will cover over 20 hectares and aims to become one of Vietnam's largest MRO facilities. Phase one will accommodate wide-body and narrow-body aircraft, adhering to international standards. Subsequent phases will expand capacity to meet projected market growth. This initiative is expected to reduce reliance on overseas MRO centers and enhance Vietnam's capabilities in the aviation industry, creating nearly 1,000 jobs.
The development of this MRO complex positions Vietnam as a key player in the regional aviation industry and stimulates economic growth.
