Bioacoustics Used to Diagnose Health of Mangroves and Coral Reefs in Barú

An innovative project called 'Ecosistema Azul' (Blue Ecosystem) is employing bioacoustics to assess the vital health of mangrove ecosystems and coral reefs in Barú. This technique involves analyzing sounds produced by marine life to understand the environmental condition of these sensitive habitats. Through technical intervention, the project has already successfully restored 196 hectares of marine and coastal environments. The use of bioacoustics represents a cutting-edge approach to ecological monitoring and conservation.
