Mobileye, a long-time supplier of self-driving technology, is transitioning into operating its own robotaxi service. The company plans to launch its autonomous ride-hailing business in a U.S. city by 2027, deploying a fleet of approximately 100 vehicles. This strategic move marks a significant departure from its previous role as a technology provider. Mobileye aims to scale its fleet to around 17,000 vehicles within five years if the initial launch proves successful. The company will leverage its owned trip-planning app, Moovit, for consumer-facing operations.
