Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi chaired a special meeting of the Paigham-i-Aman Committee in Islamabad to finalize arrangements for Muharram and address online sectarian incitement. The committee decided to take action against individuals spreading sectarianism on social media. Minister Naqvi emphasized maintaining contact with religious scholars (ulema) and activating the committee at the district level. He stressed the importance of public awareness against terrorism and extremism, stating there is "no room in Islam for rebellion against the state." The minister announced the appointment of a coordinator for the peace committee, deeming law and order maintenance during Muharram a "collective responsibility." Naqvi also credited PM Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief Gen. Asim Munir for their roles in the US-Iran agreement.
