Taiwan court hands down jail terms in TSMC trade secrets case

A Taiwanese court has issued prison sentences to several individuals involved in a trade secrets case concerning Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC). The former employee of Tokyo Electron, a competitor, received the longest sentence of 10 years. Four other defendants in the case were sentenced to terms ranging from 10 months to six years.
This case highlights the ongoing efforts to protect intellectual property and trade secrets within the highly competitive semiconductor industry.
