A joint operation by the Fiscalía General del Estado and the National Police on June 11, 2026, resulted in the arrest of six individuals linked to a vehicle‑theft ring that coordinated activities from the El Inca prison and a workshop in Calderón. Five of the detainees were already incarcerated for other offenses. Authorities seized a mobile phone used to direct the crimes. The case was investigated by Fedoti since January 2026 and involved a hierarchical structure with directives issued from inside the penitentiary. The accused now face preventive detention, with most remaining in custody due to prior convictions.
