The Federal Highway Police seized more than 11,500 firearms and related reloading materials during a routine stop on Brazil’s BR‑230 in Balsa. The seizure included calibres ranging from .22 to .38 and 19,000 rounds of ammunition. A man was taken into custody and referred to the civil police. The operation was part of an effort to curb illegal arms trafficking.
