Governor Manytuil to Leer residents: ‘Let someone only die because of disease, not through conflict’

Unity State Governor Dr. Joseph Nguen Manytuil told residents of Leer County on Tuesday that local communities must reject anti-peace elements, declaring that the area has suffered enough and there should be no more bloodshed. Dr. Manytuil visited Leer town on Tuesday to deliver a message centered on security and state stability. Addressing a crowd during a rally, Manytuil stated that his mission was to deliver two directives to the population: to maintain peace and to reject individuals who oppose stability. “Many people and schools children spoke about peace,” Manytuil said. “My mission to Leer today is to come and tell you two messages: the first message is peace, I want us to have stability in our state, and if there is anyone who doesn’t want peace, we will all tell him no.” Manytuil noted that citizens in the area have faced prolonged hardships and isolation. He called for an immediate end to violence within Leer County, urging residents to ensure that fatalities occur only due to natural health factors rather than armed conflict. “The citizens here have suffered; they are even forgotten,” the governor stated. “Let someone only die of disease here in Dok, not through conflict. If we all don’t prioritize stability in our state—then what would be our priority?
