The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an orange alert for Kozhikode on Wednesday (June 17, 2026) warning of very heavy rainfall for the next 24 hours.
Six districts – Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Malappuram, Wayanad and Kannur – were put on yellow alert warning of isolated heavy rains.
Also, a yellow alert has been issued for seven districts – Kottayam, Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad and Malappuram – on Thursday (June 18).
