RAM WASH Warns 190 Million African Children Face Unsafe Water and Sanitation

On African Children’s Day, the African Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Media Network (RAM WASH) highlighted the alarming situation in which over 190 million children across the continent are exposed to unsafe water, lack adequate sanitation, and suffer water‑borne diseases. The network called for urgent action to improve water quality, expand sanitation infrastructure, and implement health interventions to protect vulnerable children. The report underscored the link between inadequate water and sanitation and increased morbidity and mortality among African children.
Unsafe water and poor sanitation pose a major public health threat to a vast number of children, affecting their health, education, and future prospects.
