Minority Welfare Minister Azharuddin listening to the petitioners during the ‘Face to Face with People’ programme organised at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad on Wedneday.
Minority Welfare Minister Mohammed Azharuddin on Wednesday said the Congress government was committed to addressing the problems of the poor and ensuring prompt redressal of public grievances.
Participating in the ‘Face to Face with People’ programme organised at Gandhi Bhavan, he said more than 200 petitions were received from people on various issues. He said he had personally spoken to officials regarding the grievances submitted and made efforts to resolve them. The TPCC revived the initiative that had been suspended for some time.
The Minister stated that he had immediately contacted the District Collector concerned and facilitated the resolution of around 50 petitions on the spot. He said Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy was working tirelessly for the development of Telangana and lauded TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud for launching the public outreach initiative.
Responding to criticism from the Opposition, Mr. Azharuddin said Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders were making allegations because they were now in the Opposition. Referring to allegations of irregularities in tenders, he said the BRS was levelling charges without producing any evidence and was attempting to divert public attention through unsubstantiated claims.
On the issue of fee reimbursement, he assured that the Congress government was examining the matter and expressed confidence that the Chief Minister would resolve the issue soon.
On the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, the Minister said the government was taking suitable measures and urged people to remain vigilant.
