The Jharkhand unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday (June 17, 2026) questioned the State’s law and order situation after two unidentified persons allegedly hurled petrol bombs at the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) office in Ranchi’s Niwaranpur area in the early hours of Wednesday (June 17, 2026). BJP leaders described the incident as tragic and unfortunate. BJP leader and Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth described the incident as an attack on a mother. Several leaders, including Jharkhand BJP president Aditya Sahu and Leader of the Opposition Babulal Marandi, visited the Sangh office to take stock of the situation. Mr. Seth said the incident was not a minor one and that it was important to uncover the entire conspiracy behind it. “Police must find out the motive and intention behind the attack on the RSS office. This is not an ordinary incident, it is an attack on our mother. In the CCTV footage it is clearly visible that twice they came with petrol bombs to attack it.” Mr. Sahu, on the other hand, described it as a heinous crime and said the incident showed that the morale of criminals in the State was high. “The incident took place right under the administration’s nose in the state capital - targeting the office of the Sangh, which is a centre of faith for millions and dedicated to national service - demonstrates that criminals have no fear of the police and are effectively running a parallel government,” Mr. Sahu alleged. He asked how common people could remain safe if the office of such a major social organisation was not secure.
