The Regional Office of Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) in Hubballi is organising a State-level outreach programme under Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY) in Hubballi and Belagavi on Friday.
Addressing presspersons in Hubballi on Wednesday, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner Ashutosh said that the programmes in Hubballi and Belagavi are being organised as part of a nation-wide PM-VBRY event which will be presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.
Mr. Ashutosh said that while the Hubballi event will be held at Deshpande Foundation Auditorium located on the BVB campus of KLE Technological University, the Belagavi event will be held at Belgaum Foundry Cluster, Angol Industrial Area. The programmes will begin at 5 p.m.
“Launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, PM-VBRY is a landmark employment-linked incentive scheme aimed at promoting large-scale formal employment generation and expanding social security coverage across the country. The scheme is expected to incentivise the creation of over 3.5 crore jobs over a period of two years,” he said.
The Hubballi and Belagavi events will bring together employers, employees, beneficiary of the scheme, industry representatives and government officials.
Along with distribution of appointment letters to newly recruited workers, the programme is aimed at creating awareness on labour welfare initiatives and recent labour reforms, he said and added that similar events are being held simultaneously at 200 centres across the country.
Mr. Ashutosh said that the whole objective is to highlight the government’s commitment towards employment-led growth, formalisation of workforce and strengthening of social security coverage for workers.
