News24 | Thursday’s weather: Chance of rain in 5 provinces, cloudy, cool and cold elsewhere

Wet conditions are expected in parts of Limpopo, the Western Cape, Mpumalanga, KwaZulu-Natal and the Northern Cape, according to the South African Weather Service (SAWS).

Yellow level 1 warning: Damaging winds resulting in localised problems for high-sided vehicles on the prone route are expected over parts of the Richterveld, Nama Khoi and Kamiesberg municipalities of the Northern Cape on Friday and Saturday.

Gauteng: Cloudy in the north in the morning, where it will be cool, otherwise fine and cold, becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon.

Mpumalanga: Cloudy in the morning with fog over the Highveld and escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and cool, but warm in the Lowveld with isolated rain and showers.

Limpopo: Cloudy in the morning with fog over the central and eastern parts, otherwise partly cloudy and cool with isolated showers and rain in places in the Lowveld.

Free State: Morning fog patches in the east, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to cold.

Northern Cape: Partly cloudy and cool, with isolated showers and thundershowers in the north-west and north-central parts.

The wind along the coast will be light and variable, becoming moderate southerly to south-easterly from the late afternoon.

Western Cape: Cloudy along the south coast with a chance of light rain, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm.

The wind along the coast will be light to moderate south-westerly over the south coast, otherwise fresh to strong southerly to south-easterly.

Eastern Cape: Fine in the north in the morning with fog in places, otherwise partly cloudy and cool. It will become cloudy with isolated showers and rain along the coast and adjacent interior from the afternoon in the western half, and from the evening in the eastern half.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-westerly in the western half, and light to moderate south-westerly in the eastern half.

KwaZulu-Natal: Morning and evening fog patches over the interior, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to cold with isolated showers and rain over the extreme eastern parts and along the coast and adjacent interior,
