US and Iran Electronically Sign Memorandum of Understanding, Effective Immediately

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the United States and Iran has been signed electronically, confirmed by Iranian Foreign Ministry representative Esmaïl Baghaei and two U.S. officials speaking to Axios journalist Barak Ravid. The MOU bears the signatures of U.S. President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. Consequently, the planned in-person signing ceremony in Switzerland is now considered unnecessary, with a decision on any potential meeting to be made in the coming hours. This development aligns with Axios' earlier report about advanced consultations to expedite the MOU's signing. President Trump had previously stated the MOU would be signed within 48 hours, with the text finalized but the location undecided.
