The PARAS/JF project, aimed at improving income for the socio-economic empowerment of youth and women, was officially launched on June 17, 2026, in Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso. Implemented by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) with funding from Austrian Development Cooperation, the project seeks to sustainably strengthen the productive and economic capacities of young people and women in the Guiriko, Sourou, and Bankui regions. The initiative addresses challenges posed by climate, security, and economic factors affecting rural communities. It has a budget of 1.8 million euros and runs from December 2025 to November 2028.
This launches a development project focused on economic empowerment for vulnerable groups, addressing critical issues like climate change and security in rural areas.
