The Sindh government has presented a tax-free budget of Rs3.562 trillion for the fiscal year 2026-27, projecting total receipts of Rs3.525 trillion and an estimated deficit of Rs36.9 billion. Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah described it as a budget focused on hope, development, and public trust, balancing fiscal restraint with welfare amid inflation and post-flood reconstruction needs. The development portfolio was reduced to Rs400 billion after contributing Rs260 billion towards national strategic requirements. Salaries and pensions increased by 7%, and the minimum wage rose to Rs43,000. Major allocations include funds for local government, public health, transport, irrigation, education, and health.
