The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Nasarawa State, Aliyu Bello
The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Nasarawa State, Aliyu Bello has said the defection of a former Inspector-General of Police, Abubakar Adamu from the APC to the Social Democratic Congress will not affect the chances of the party during the 2027 general elections. Our correspondent reports that the former IGP lost the recently conducted governorship primaries of the APC to the current Senator representing Nasarawa West Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Ahmed Wadada, who is also the preferred candidate of Governor Abdullahi Sule. Speaking during a rally at the Angwan Gayam in the Gayam Electoral Ward of Lafia, the state capital on Tuesday, the APC Chairman urged the supporters of the Ex-IGP who are still in the party to accept the outcome of the primary election in good faith, emphasising that power only comes from God. Bello further challenged those burning brooms to present their scorecards of what they did for the people in the area and the state when they had the opportunity in the past. On his part, Deputy Chairman of Lafia Local Government Area, Uba Arikya, explained that politics should be about good governance and benefits that have direct bearing on the lives of the people and not by organising rallies and insulting people and incit
