Rwanda has intensified surveillance and prevention measures against Ebola, one month after the latest outbreak began in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Despite no cases reported in Rwanda, the Ministry of Health emphasizes the importance of vigilance to prevent cross-border transmission. Minister Daniel Ngamije Nsanzimana stated that robust border activities necessitate strong surveillance to protect economies and daily life. The DRC outbreak has recorded 808 confirmed cases and 192 deaths, with Uganda reporting 19 cases and two deaths. The DRC's Ituri province remains the epicenter, with daily new case notifications.
