Preparations are intensifying in Cameroon for the 51st Francophonie Parliamentary Assembly (APF) to be held in Yaoundé from July 7-9, 2026. The President of the National Assembly, Théodore Datouo, met with the Cameroonian Ambassador to France, André Magnus Ekoumou, to discuss the progress of arrangements. The Cameroonian Embassy in France is facilitating visa issuance for delegations. The APF event is seen as an opportunity for Cameroon to showcase its hospitality and commitment to the Francophonie ideals, with a key agenda item being the election of a new Secretary General for the International Organization of La Francophonie.
