Ragu Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, in his address to the Assembly on Thursday (June 18, 2026), said a resolution will be passed in the House demanding Tamil Nadu’s due share of financial devolution from the taxes it contributes to the Union government. Besides, a Special Legal Committee will be constituted to pursue the issue up to the Supreme Court to secure fair financial devolution. Every rupee due to Tamil Nadu will be properly documented, and a report detailing the Union government’s “discriminatory approach” toward the financial devolution for Tamil Nadu will be published, he said.
