Former MD of Desh TV, Arif Hasan, Arrested in Driver Murder Case

Arif Hasan, the former Managing Director of Desh Television, has been arrested in connection with the murder of private car driver Babul. The court ordered his arrest based on an application by the investigation officer, who alleges Hasan was the "main financier" behind the attack on protesters during the 2024 student movement. The case stems from an incident on July 18, 2024, where Babul was fatally injured by gunfire during a protest in Uttara. His wife filed a murder case against Hasan and others. Hasan's lawyer argued against the arrest, citing his client's health and lack of political involvement. Hasan is already in jail facing other charges.
