This decision allows the Tröllá and Skúfnavatnavirkjun hydropower projects, along with the Bolaalda geothermal project, to proceed through the permitting process. These three projects, if fully developed, could generate nearly 1 TWh of renewable electricity annually. The Hvanneyrardalsvirkjun and Hamarsvirkjun projects have been placed in the waiting category for further evaluation.
