Giant Electric Boiler to Enhance Sustainability of Ghent's Heating Network
Energiebedrijf Luminus installeert een elektrische boiler in zijn elektriciteitscentrale aan de Ham in Gent. Energy company Luminus is installing a large electric boiler at its power plant in Ghent to improve the sustainability of the city's heating network. The e-boiler will reduce reliance on gas-fired installations during certain periods, thereby lowering CO2 emissions. In 2025, the plant emitted nearly 40,000 tons of CO2 from electricity and heat production combined.
