New Era for Cinema Tickets: Producers Can Offer Up to 70% Discount

Turkey's Ministry of Culture and Tourism has introduced a new regulation allowing film producers to offer "film special tickets" with discounts of up to 70%. This marks a significant shift, as producers can now directly negotiate and set discount rates with cinema operators, a power previously held solely by theaters. The initiative aims to stimulate cinema attendance by making tickets more affordable, enabling producers to run joint campaigns with brands and organize group sales. Additionally, cinema halls can offer up to 40% discounts for specific groups like students and up to 50% for categories such as disabled individuals and veterans. Online ticket purchases will also receive an additional 10% discount.

This regulatory change empowers film producers to directly influence ticket pricing and sales strategies, potentially revitalizing the cinema industry by making moviegoing more accessible and competitive.
