Tanzanian cooperative associations are being urged to adopt technology to improve accountability, governance, and operational efficiency. Training programs organized by the Cooperative Audit and Supervision Organization (COASCO) are equipping leaders and executives with essential skills in accounting, IT, and tax management. Kibaha District Commissioner Nickson Simoni stressed the importance of professionalism, transparency, and positive results in cooperative management. Cooperatives play a vital role in the agricultural sector and savings mobilization, but their success hinges on effective leadership and financial management. The training covers international accounting standards, financial analysis, and the use of advanced Excel and IT tools. Mental health awareness for leaders is also included, recognizing its importance for effective daily operations.
