President Vučić: Sanctions and Protectionism Against China Are Doomed to Fail

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić stated at the opening of a photo exhibition on Serbia-China friendship that sanctions and protectionist measures against China are destined to fail. He argued that the West's shift towards protectionism contradicts traditional values of free markets. Vučić believes China's growth will continue, overcoming such barriers. He highlighted Serbia's decade-long strategic partnership with China, praising its 'fascinating' development under President Xi Jinping. Vučić also noted the significant role of Chinese investment, particularly in Smederevo's steelworks, which he credits with sustaining thousands of jobs. He mentioned US Customs detaining copper products from 'Serbia Zijin Copper' due to forced labor concerns, a claim the company is investigating.
