Major Drug Trafficking Ring Dismantled in Istria; Members Arrested
USKOK i istarska policija razbili su zločinačko udruženje u Istri, uhitivši sedam osoba zbog preprodaje droge, pranja novca i velike zapljene oružja.
A large criminal organization involved in the procurement, storage, and distribution of cocaine and marijuana in Istria has been dismantled, leading to the arrest of seven individuals. The Croatian Anti-Corruption and Organized Crime Office (USKOK) and Istrian police conducted the operation. The suspects, aged between 1967 and 2007, face charges including criminal association, drug trafficking, document forgery, and money laundering. Authorities allege the group, led by a 34-year-old, acquired significant quantities of drugs, concealed them in forests and makeshift structures, and laundered proceeds through various financial channels, including gambling. The investigation estimates illicit earnings exceeding 196,000 euros.
