China Passenger Car Market Expected to Reach 1.65 Million Units in June, Retail Sales Up 9.3%

The China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) forecasts the retail sales of passenger cars in June to reach approximately 1.65 million units, a 9.3% increase month-on-month. Despite challenges like high temperatures and pre-holiday sales rushes, policy support for trade-ins and new model launches are driving market recovery. New energy vehicle (NEV) retail sales are projected at around 1.05 million units, with a penetration rate of about 63.6%, indicating a widening gap between NEV and traditional fuel vehicle markets.
This forecast highlights the ongoing recovery and growth in China's automotive market, particularly the strong performance of new energy vehicles, signaling key industry trends.
