Former MP Syed Sayedul Haque's Bail Suspended in Two Cases by Appellate Court

The Appellate Division's Chamber Court has suspended the interim bail granted to former Member of Parliament Syed Sayedul Haque, also known as Barrister Sumon, in two separate cases filed at the Adabar and Jatrabari police stations. The state had appealed the High Court's decision to grant bail. The High Court had previously issued a rule and granted interim bail to Haque in the Adabar case, related to allegations of murder during the anti-discrimination student movement. A similar interim bail was granted in the Jatrabari case, also involving murder allegations. Haque faces a total of seven cases, with bail in one other case (attempted murder at Mirpur police station) being upheld by the Appellate Division. Hearings on bail petitions in six other cases are pending. Haque was arrested on October 22nd following the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government.
