BRAC Bank and VisionSpring Partner to Provide Free Eye Care to 60,000 Underserved Individuals

BRAC Bank is launching a major corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, 'Oporajeyo Ami,' in partnership with VisionSpring, aiming to provide free eye examinations and eyeglasses to 60,000 underprivileged individuals by 2026. Building on the success of last year's program, which reached over 47,000 people, this expanded initiative will focus on factory workers, particularly in the garment and manufacturing sectors, who often have limited access to basic eye care. The program aims to improve productivity, workplace safety, and overall quality of life for beneficiaries. BRAC Bank's Managing Director and CEO, Tareq Refat Ullah Khan, emphasized that good vision is a fundamental right and that this initiative seeks to create a more inclusive and capable society. Since its inception, 'Oporajeyo Ami' has provided eye care services to over 63,872 individuals across Bangladesh.

This initiative addresses a critical healthcare gap for vulnerable populations, particularly industrial workers, by providing essential eye care services that can significantly improve their livelihoods and well-being.
