The Football Federation of Macedonia (FFM) has issued a statement following reports of the arrest of former president Ilčo Gjorgioski, related to suspected financial irregularities. While not naming specific individuals, the FFM confirmed that in 2019, they submitted documentation to authorities regarding irregularities from 2015-2019. An investigation by the Financial Police led to a criminal complaint filed in 2020. According to the FFM, the total damage incurred by the Federation during this period exceeds €2.5 million. The Federation stated they received no updates on the proceedings until late 2025, when additional documentation was requested. Gjorgioski led the FFM until 2018, succeeded by Muamed Sejdini, who was also recently detained. The FFM pledges continued cooperation with authorities.
