Defense Minister Vlado Misajlovski, speaking from NATO headquarters in Brussels, emphasized the need for continuous growth in defense budgets. He stated that discussions with fellow ministers focused on key challenges, particularly budget allocations and achieving the target of 3.5% of GDP for defense spending. Misajlovski noted that North Macedonia currently allocates 2.18% of its budget to defense, with over 32% directed towards army modernization. He stressed the requirement for member states to reach 3.5% in the coming years, focusing on capability development. The minister highlighted that all member countries face similar challenges in sustaining budget increases but can achieve common projects through solidarity. He also mentioned the importance of infrastructure projects like Corridors 8 and 10 as NATO corridors. Bilateral meetings were held, including one with Greek Defense Minister Nikolaos Dendias, focusing on regional stability and collective defense.
