Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan has directed officials to establish the proposed Greening Society by July 3, emphasizing strict adherence to the Presidential Order of 2025 for its implementation. The society's formation is a top priority, aiming to increase the state's green cover to 50%. Kalyan stressed the importance of utilizing funds and labor available under the Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) for developing nurseries in rural areas. He also suggested public involvement in seed ball dispersal for afforestation efforts. The Forest Department reported preparing 2.60 crore seed balls for the monsoon season. The Deputy CM expressed satisfaction with measures to protect rare plant species, including the identification of a critically endangered bamboo variety.
