Croatian Farmers Demand Mass Culling of Wild Boars Due to Crop Damage
The Croatian Chamber of Agriculture (HPK) has reiterated its urgent call for the mass culling of wild boars. Farmers are reporting extensive damage to their crops caused by these animals. The HPK is appealing for the wild boar population to be reduced to a "biological minimum" across the entire country. The ongoing issue poses a significant threat to agricultural livelihoods and food production. Previous attempts to control the population may have been insufficient. The chamber emphasizes the economic losses incurred by farmers due to the uncontrolled spread of wild boars. This demand reflects a growing frustration among the agricultural community.
This news highlights a conflict between agricultural interests and wildlife management, as farmers demand drastic measures to control wild boar populations.
