Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has acknowledged his opposition to the recent deal with the United States but stated he permitted its signing based on assurances from Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. Khamenei described the agreement, which led to the lifting of U.S. naval blockades, as being pursued by the 'American president out of desperation.' He indicated that while he has a 'different perspective,' Pezeshkian guaranteed that the interests of the Iranian people and the 'Axis of Resistance' would be protected.
