National Math Carnival 2026 Aims to Dispel Math Phobia Among Students
জাতীয় গণিত কার্নিভ্যাল ২০২৬ উপলক্ষে ঢাকা প্রকৌশল ও প্রযুক্তি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের (ডুয়েট) উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক মোহাম্মদ ইকবালের সঙ্গে সৌজন্য সাক্ষাৎ করেছেন ডুয়েট ম্যাথ ক্লাব ও গাজীপুর বন্ধুসভার সদস্যরা। ১৭ জুন বিকেলে ডুয়েটের ভিসি সেমিনার কক্ষে এই সাক্ষাৎ অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। এ সময় অধ্যাপক মোহাম্মদ ইকবাল বলেন, ‘আমাদের দেশের শিক্ষার্থীদের মধ্যে গণিতভীতি রয়েছে। এই ভয় দূর করতে হবে। শিক্ষার্থীদের বোঝাতে হবে যে গণিত একটি সহজ ও আনন্দদায়ক বিষয়। জীবনের প্রতিটি ক্ষেত্রে গণিতের ব্যবহার অপরিসীম।
To combat math phobia among students, the National Math Carnival 2026 will be held at the DUET campus on July 25. DUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Mohammad Iqbal met with members of the DUET Math Club and Gafargaon Bandhushabha to discuss the event. Professor Iqbal emphasized that mathematics is an easy and enjoyable subject with immense practical applications in life. The carnival, co-organized by DUET Math Club and Gafargaon Bandhushabha, will feature three categories: school, college, and university levels, with 500 participants each. Attendees will receive certificates, crests, prize money, and other kits. The event is expected to foster a greater interest in mathematics among students nationwide.
This initiative is important for improving mathematics education and encouraging student engagement with the subject.
