Mount Olympus Rescue Operation Concludes Successfully for Two Lost Hikers; One Injured

A rescue operation on Mount Olympus concluded successfully after two young hikers became disoriented in a difficult-to-access forest area near the Orlias stream in the Pieria region. The hikers were located after a friend alerted the Fire Department's operations center. A team of 18 firefighters from Katerini and Litochoro, along with two mountain rescue teams from EMAK, were deployed due to the challenging terrain and limited visibility. Rescuers reached the hikers safely, finding one of them injured. The injured hiker was transported by stretcher. Firefighters guided both individuals to a location called "Ydragogeio," where an ambulance provided medical attention. The Litochoro 'Olympus' Naturalists Association also assisted in the operation.
