Cameroon has received a significant donation of emergency food aid from China, comprising 880 tonnes of wheat and 1,630 tonnes of rice, valued at approximately $2.96 million. The aid, delivered to the economic capital of Douala, aims to bolster the government's efforts in combating food insecurity. Minister of Territorial Administration Paul Atanga Nji presided over the handover ceremony, emphasizing China's role as a reliable strategic partner. He expressed gratitude for China's "immeasurable support" in managing humanitarian assistance. Xiao Guofeng, Economic and Commercial Counselor at the Chinese Embassy, highlighted the donation as part of the Sino-African Cooperation Forum's ten partnership actions. He reaffirmed China's commitment to Cameroon, pledging continued cooperation across various sectors.
This food aid signifies an important contribution to alleviating food insecurity in Cameroon and reinforces the strategic partnership between China and African nations.
