The two individuals, former UK Border Force official Peter Wai and retired Hong Kong policeman Bill Yuen, were convicted of conducting "shadow policing" against Hong Kong dissidents in Britain. They targeted democracy activists and politicians critical of Beijing. Wai received a 10-year sentence, while Yuen was given eight years.
