This initiative aims to expedite diagnosis and specialized treatment for patients. The procedures involve excising suspicious moles or wounds that could develop into more serious conditions. A dermatologist at the CRDT conducts the surgeries following a referral from a primary care physician. Residents are advised to monitor for non-healing wounds or easily bleeding lesions. To date, 65 procedures have been completed, with collected samples sent for biopsy and definitive diagnosis. Patients must first consult at a Basic Health Unit (UBS) for a referral, then schedule an appointment through the Super Fácil network.
